Every
organization should have a virus protection policy
Developing an effective virus protection policy is a crucial component of every network security plan. A crucial part of an antivirus strategy is having a written policy that defines both the IT department's and end user's roles in protecting your network. The policy should also provide users with a basic understanding of how viruses spread and how they can help prevent virus attacks. Such a policy should
accomplish two goals: · Detail the IT department's procedures for preventing and managing virus outbreaks. · Educate end users about their roles and responsibilities in preventing virus outbreaks. Nothing is foolproof, but a policy can help designate the fool. You can’t force people to read or heed a policy. One thing a policy can do, however, is put users on notice that they are also responsible for network security. ICS can help you create a virus policy that fits your organization's needs.
